At the edge of the Freedom and Justice Arch fountain, visitors leaned forward as Where Body Lifo, a collaborative performance by Martin Toloku and Karel van Laere, unfolded. In this performance, bodies, machines, and trees collided in a tense choreography of power, fragility, and survival. Karel’s body hovered at the mercy of a moving blade, while Martin embodied the risk of flesh as both weapon and vulnerability. It was a haunting meditation on trust and control.
